    bedrest

Thank you for all of your prayers, well wishes, and kind words!  I am still on bedrest, but I am optimistic and hopeful.  I did have some more blood work done today, but will not have the results until tomorrow.

The days crawl by, but I am passing my time as you see above:  lying on the couch and knitting, sometimes enjoying an audiobook or podcast.  My husband has graciously loaned me his MacBook so that I can at least feel connected to the world without disrupting my rest.  He’s the best!  I can read my favorite blogs, check my email, or read about the Brown-headed Cowbird.  The hardest thing for me right now is resisting the urge to get up and clean house (especially when something is within my line of vision) or do laundry.  The health of our baby is so much more important than my Monk-like urges!

  • hey, talk to your dr about magnesium supplements. it has something to do with connective tissues. in europe they use it at the first signof any pregnant problems and have a lower rate of miscarriages. disani also has mag in it.

  • Oh my goodness!!!! I didn’t check your blog for a few days and look what happened…I missed your biggest news ever! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo-Hoo! A baby! A baby! What joyful news!!! I will definitely be praying for ya, Heather!!! And try to enjoy the bed rest as much as possible…when the baby gets here you’ll miss the relaxation and rest Im sure! 🙂 As far as the housework goes, I know that feeling. But just remember…you don’t need to be a hero. Taking care of you and baby is far more important than laundry and dust.
Kristin just found out that she is also expecting! Jan. 2nd is her due date. She is ecstatic because she was told her chances of getting pregnant again were very very slim.

  • Dear Heather,

I was just reading through the comments on PW’s blog and I came across yours. I know we don’t know each other, but I wanted to stop by to tell you how very sorry I am about your loss. Losing a baby is the most painful thing that a Mother can ever endure. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

    I am so sorry.
    Hugs,
    Debbie
